2019 Ford Super Duty F-250

Overview

The redesigned Ford Super Duty F-250 has a lot to brag about, starting with its new ultra-tough, high-strength body. It becomes the the only full-sized pickup truck to offer a body made of military-grade aluminum alloy, which saves weight as it increases strength and shrugs off dings and rust. With the weight saved by this superior body, Ford fortified the frame, axles, and chassis to make the 2019 F-250 undeniably the toughest ever.

With six trim levels (XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited) and a long list of available options, both individually and in packages, the final price tag on a Super Duty F-250 can cover quite a wide range, from around $33K to over $80K. There are several different configurations for cabs, wheelbases, bed lengths, two-wheel or four-wheel drive, and single versus dual rear wheels to customize the truck for individual needs and preferences. The engine options are the standard 6.2-liter Flex-Fuel V-8, with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel available (the diesel is standard on the Limited trim). The transmission for both is a six-speed TorqShift heavy-duty automatic.

Performance

Ford provides quite a few options and add-ons for customizing your F-250. The three cab options (Regular, SuperCab, and Crew Cab) and two available bed lengths (6'9" and 8') mean that you can get a truck that truly suits your day-to-day needs, whether you use it for business or pleasure. There are packages to upgrade the suspension and to set up the pickup for plowing, towing, off-road, and even camping, and a 48-gallon fuel tank is available to maximize productivity by keeping pit stops to a minimum.

Safety & Technology

There are several active safety equipment options available on the Super Duty F-250, including a high-mounted rear-view camera (a tailgate-mounted camera comes standard) and a blind-spot monitoring system. Buyers of higher trims can opt for adaptive cruise, adaptive steering, and a reverse sensing system. All F-250s are equipped with the SOS Post-Crash Alert System, which activates the hazard lights, unlocks the doors, and calls emergency responders when it detects that a collision has occurred and provides them with the GPS location of the emergency.

Connectivity features on the Super Duty include Ford's SYNC 3 touch-screen system, which provides voice-activated integration of music, smartphone, and informational functions. There's also an in-vehicle hotspot that serves up to ten devices at a time.
