Your Ford May Have an
Open Safety Recall.
Enter your VIN below to check for any active recalls on your vehicle. If one comes up, our Manchester service team will take care of it completely free of charge.
Why It Matters
An Open Recall Is Worth a One-Minute Check
Ford issues safety recalls when a component falls short of federal standards, and some of those components are ones your family depends on every day. A quick VIN lookup is the fastest way to know where you stand, and if your vehicle is affected, the fix won't cost you a thing.
Safety First
Recalled components can include airbags, steering systems, fuel lines, and brakes. Resolving an open recall is one of the most direct things you can do to protect the people in your vehicle.
Protect Your Trade-In
Open recalls can reduce what you're offered on a trade or private sale. Getting it resolved, at no cost, keeps your vehicle's history clean and your equity intact.
Free by Law
Manufacturers are legally required to repair safety recall defects at no cost to you, parts and labor included. There's no expiration, no eligibility requirement, and no bill when you leave.

Common Questions
Ford Recall FAQs
Everything Manchester-area Ford owners want to know about recalls, from checking your VIN to what to expect at our service center.
Will I have to pay anything for a recall repair?
Not a cent. Federal law requires Ford to cover all parts and labor for any safety, compliance, or emissions recall — no matter how old your vehicle is or how many miles it has. If you already paid out of pocket for a repair that was later tied to a recall, you may also be eligible for reimbursement. Ask our team when you come in.
Where is my VIN and how many digits is it?
Your VIN is always 17 characters long, a mix of letters and numbers. You can find it in three places: on a metal plate at the base of your windshield on the driver's side (visible from outside the car), on the sticker inside your driver's side door jamb, or printed on your vehicle registration, insurance card, or title.
My car seems fine. Do I still need to address a recall?
Yes. Many recall defects don't cause obvious symptoms until they fail, sometimes suddenly. Issues related to airbags, fuel systems, or steering components can behave normally for a long time before becoming dangerous. Addressing the recall now, while it's free and convenient, is always the right call.
Is there a deadline to get my recall repaired?
There is no expiration date on a safety, compliance, or emissions recall. The free repair remains available for the life of the vehicle, regardless of ownership history or mileage. Note that Customer Satisfaction Programs, which are separate from official recalls, may have time or mileage limits, so it's worth checking any notices you've received.
I bought my Ford used. Am I still covered for open recalls?
Yes. Safety recalls follow the vehicle, not the original owner. If your used Ford has an open recall, you're entitled to the same free repair regardless of when or where you purchased it. Entering your VIN in the tool above is the quickest way to find out if anything is open on your specific vehicle.
Can I get the recall fixed at any repair shop?
No. Recall repairs must be completed at an authorized Ford dealership to be covered at no charge. Independent shops don't have access to Ford's recall authorization or parts programs. AutoFair Ford in Manchester is a fully authorized Ford dealership with factory-trained technicians and genuine Ford parts ready to go.
How long will the recall repair take?
Most recall repairs are completed in a few hours, though more complex repairs or parts availability can affect timing. When you schedule your appointment, our service team will give you an estimated timeframe. For lengthier repairs, we do our best to offer loaner vehicles or shuttle service, just ask when you book.
